the year 2020 has allowed us lots of reflection, in what we’ve accomplished and what we have yet to do. And on what kind of impact we want to leave in this world. One of our goals for 2021 is to reflect on what we are doing everyday to be less hateful, myopic people. How we broaden and deepen natural human qualities of empathy and kindness to enact real change. So in 2021, we are vowing to use our social platform for good. Together, we can come together and make an impact beyond the plate this year.
Our goal: $1,000
We are starting with a conservative goal of raising $1,000 for the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights – if every one of our followers donated, that’s roughly $0.33 per person. But any amount makes a huge difference & is thoroughly appreciated.
About the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights
The Ela Baker Center for Human Rights was founded by Diana Frappier, Mike McLoone, and Van Jones in 1996 in an effort to coordinate lawsuits against unlawful police violence. Since its founding, the group has worked on grassroots movements – they work to create coalitions to justice reform & urban community rebuilding. They have succeeded in closing abusive youth prisons and prevented the building of a youth prison in California. Your donation will help the group continue advocacy for our black and brown brothers and sisters and help reform our criminal justice system in a bipartisan manner, to the benefit of all citizens.
